EXPLOSION | Truck explosion at California UPS facility.
If you have shipments moving through UPS, there could be a delay in receiving those goods.
At 9 am on Monday morning, there was an explosion at a UPS facility in California.
Multiple trucks and the building were on fire as many fire trucks arrived to control the blaze. See pictures, videos, and the details on the explosion here.
BASEBALL HAIL | Severe storms with hail and tornados rip through the US this week.
When driving across the Plains and Southern US, you could encounter baseball-sized hail and tornadoes.
Strong storm effects will impact lanes from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to Houston, Texas.
Truckers could experience strong storms and wind gusts up to 70 mph. Want to see images of what the storm has already done and get lane details? Click here.
LEASING FAIRNESS | Submit your application to join the FMCSA truck leasing task force.
Want to impact fairness in all topics involving truck leasing? The FMCSA is taking applications for individuals who wish to serve on a truck leasing task force.
The group will evaluate the fairness of lease and lease-to-purchase agreements, leasing companies, owner-operators, and drayage drivers.
“The task force will be instrumental in expanding our understanding of the financial impacts of truck leasing and will reinforce our commitment to quality of life and safety for professional truck drivers,” said FMCSA Acting Administrator Robin Hutcheson.
Deadlines, applications, and details about the task force can be found here.
GAME OF PORTS | Which ports are operating the fastest?
Regardless of which port you send your cargo to… expect to wait.
Cargo ships are lining up, waiting for a berth at both west coast and east coast ports.
Did you think the Port of Charleston was your importing solution… that’s not the case, as some importers are waiting 9-10 days to get their cargo.
Importers are now looking to the Gulf ports to avoid the east and west coast congestion. To find out more, click here.
