CHAMELEON CARRIERS | What are they, and how is the FMCSA targeting chameleon transportation operations?
Like a chameleon changes its appearance to hide in plain sight, less-than-reputable carriers try to conceal previous violations and penalties.
How? By re-organizing their old company under a new name.
Despite the FMCSA’s efforts, chameleon carriers caused accidents that killed 217 people and injured 3,500 people from 2005 to 2010.
Because of the safety concerns these carriers pose to our roadways, the FMCSA is tracking carrier applications with chameleon carrier characteristics.

TESTING SUPPLY SHORTAGES | How do medical labs overcome supply shortages to test life-threatening diseases?
Every industry has shortages.
But what happens when a medical lab lacks supplies to test for life-threatening cardiac problems and highly contagious diseases like tuberculosis?
Obviously this type of shortage can present a big problem for hospitals and patients.
So what can be done to address the shortages that can devastate people’s health?
Surprisingly, steps can be taken to widen the supply chain bottlenecks.
Find out the solutions here.
TRUCK VIOLATIONS | What critical defects will be targeted in the PECVL trucking safety updates?
Safety rating system changes for trucking violations concerning major critical defects are on the way in Canada.
Given that these changes have real impacts on carriers and insurance premiums, the new PECVL updates will not begin until Jan 1 in Quebec.
That being said, you can find the details on the trucking safety system here.
HOT AV MECCA | Why is Texas the hottest state for autonomous vehicle companies?
Texas is a mecca for autonomous vehicle companies looking to gain a foothold in the North American transportation markets.
Texas has created new legislation lowering the barrier to entry for AV businesses to operate.
As a result, companies like Waymo, Kodiak Robotics, Gatik, and Aurora have made the lone-star state their home.
So why is Texas so attractive to these AV companies? Find out here.
