WIND WRECKAGE | Last week’s unusually high winds have disrupted the supply chain and the environment.
We all know severe weather can slow down and disrupt the supply chain.
The recent unusually high winds are endangering communities by fueling wildfires, overturning trucks, and damaging infrastructure.
This new weather change endangers communities and can even cause drought conditions.

CROSS-BORDER RATES | Rising diesel prices force cross-border carriers to increase rates.
Every week, you hear a story that diesel prices are hitting all-time highs.
These record-breaking rates are taking a toll on cross-border shipping to Mexico in increased rates and tighter capacity.
Rising diesel prices have US-Mexico carriers and owner-operators increasing rates up to 5%.

HOT PORT LOCATIONS | Cold storage and reefer demand increase at southeastern ports.
As US consumers improve their eating habits, reefers and cold storage demand has increased.
With the largest ports in the US, like LA, Long Beach, New Jersey, and New York, being overwhelmed with cargo, the ports in the Southeast and Gulf have seen an increase in imports.
The populations near these southern ports continue to grow, increasing food imports and the need for cold storage near the ports.
Find out which locations are building cold storage space to accommodate increasing demand.
BABIES REJOICE | The FDA is loosening import restrictions on baby formula.
The FDA is cutting the red tape and loosening import restrictions to increase baby formula supply by 300% year to date in response to the recent formula shortage in the US.
Baby formula is an absolute necessity for most babies under the age of 12 months and even more so for babies with specific sensitivities or allergies… no formula equals no food for babies.
Three of the main problems for the shortage other than the recall can be found here.
Formula manufacturers interested in exporting baby formula can find out how to bring their products to the US here.
ZERO EMISSIONS | How do you eliminate emissions on a refrigerated truck?
Large trucks and small trucks all have to work toward reducing their carbon footprint.
Diesel-powered Transportation Refrigeration Units (TRUs) will soon be phased out in California; this includes trailers pulled by out-of-state carriers.
Even Canadian fleets delivering cargo to California will need to transition to zero emissions by 2025. There are many options to make the transition found here.
